Thanksgiving 2008....
What an adventure our family had this year. Our original plan for Thanksgiving was that we were going to visit my older sister Randikaye and her family in Mexico. My mom and younger sister met us in Phoenix where we rented an SUV and drove the 4 1/2 hour drive to the Arizona/Mexico border. From there it would be another 4 hours or so to the farm in Mexico.

Then we ran into a huge problem. We needed to purchase a vehicle permit in order to travel down into Sonora to my sister's farm. When we tried to get the permit it was pointed out to us that the rental company had given us a car with expired registration. How does that happen?!?! Needless to say the authorities at the border would not give us the permit needed.

After exhausting all of our resources to find a way down for Thanksgiving and not finding a solution we all piled back into the car and drove back to Phoenix. Lucky for us we have some really good friends who live in Phoenix who generously opened their home to me, my husband, my baby, my mom and my sister for several days. Thank you again Matt and Kim! Here are a few pictures that Kim sent me from Thanksgiving.
