Thanksgiving 2008....
What an adventure our family had this year. Our original plan for Thanksgiving was that we were going to visit my older sister Randikaye and her family in Mexico. My mom and younger sister met us in Phoenix where we rented an SUV and drove the 4 1/2 hour drive to the Arizona/Mexico border. From there it would be another 4 hours or so to the farm in Mexico.
Then we ran into a huge problem. We needed to purchase a vehicle permit in order to travel down into Sonora to my sister's farm. When we tried to get the permit it was pointed out to us that the rental company had given us a car with expired registration. How does that happen?!?! Needless to say the authorities at the border would not give us the permit needed.
After exhausting all of our resources to find a way down for Thanksgiving and not finding a solution we all piled back into the car and drove back to Phoenix. Lucky for us we have some really good friends who live in Phoenix who generously opened their home to me, my husband, my baby, my mom and my sister for several days. Thank you again Matt and Kim! Here are a few pictures that Kim sent me from Thanksgiving.

Today, Gabriel and I played together after we got home. His favorite thing to do now is to sit down and drag out his toys from the basket...chew on them for a while...grab the next toy...repeat...so adorable!!
On your mark... get set...GO!!!
Watch out! It won't be long before he is off and running. He pushes himself up and then arches his back up and down over and over again.
It sure is amazing how quickly children grow and change. He is 6 1/2 months old, 22 lbs, sitting on his own, reaching and grabbing everything, smiles the most adorable and addicting smile possible and lets out a little "ah uh". What a true blessing!Thursday, November 6, 2008
Our First Posting!
I've finally got on board with the blog train and am entering my first blog entry! :) My only hope is that I will have enough time between working full time, taking care of my husband, teenage sister and 6 month old son, and the normal daily household duties to keep up with my entries. This is going to be fun! I will post again soon as it is already 11:00pm and I should really get some much needed sleep.
