Vacation Time...Part 1

We had a great time on vacation visiting Enrique's family.  I was a little apprehensive about going so soon after Raphael was born but we were able to figure it out so he was at least 6 weeks old when we went.  It was a different experience all together traveling with two lap children on the airplane.  I know Gabriel is far from being lap child size but he was still under two years old and we were determined to squeeze in one more trip before having to pay for three tickets.  Poor Enrique, he had to hold Gabriel on his lap the whole way.  Not a lot of wiggle room in that seat.  We were lucky on a couple of our flights and had an extra seat next to us so Gabriel could have his own seat and stretch out, which was nice.  Both the boys did really well on the flights which Enrique and I are so grateful.  We have a ton of pictures from our vacation so I will be making several posts to try and get the best ones all in.

We left Seattle on Thursday night, arrived in Santo Domingo Friday afternoon and on Saturday Enrique's mom had a little "welcome lunch" with all the family.  It was great to see everyone again and to introduce Raphael to the family.
We were just eating some yummy appetizers before lunch and chatting.  I'm such a white girl!  Tia Thania was a saint with Raphael and held him the whole time.  It was such a welcomed break from carrying him so much during our trip there.
Raphael was definitely spoiled while we were there.  Here he is with Tia Carolina and Tia Thania.
I love this picture.  I love his little hands folded behind his back.  He was watching his Abuelo in the pool and from the looks of it trying to decide what he thought of it all.  The next series of photos shows exactly what he thought of it all.
It must have been really funny!

These next pictures are of Gabriel's first swim in the pool.  He had a lot of fun swimming with Papi, Abuelo and his primo Daniel.  Look at my white boy!  He must take after his mama. :)
