So I have been so overwhelmed with the number of pictures that we have from our vacation it has taken me this long to finally upload them. I decided that I will do a massive upload of pictures with small captions so at least I can get them on here and move onto other events that have happened since April. I can't believe I am two months behind. Okay, here we go.
We went to the country club one of the days we were there to enjoy the pool and get out of the house. It was a very hot and humid day as you will be able to tell by a picture of Raphael below. Poor little guy. Both my boys and myself included had a hard time adjusting to the temperature and humidity. My boys look like they just got out of the bath in all the pictures. Here is Enrique and Gabriel playing in the kiddy pool. Enrique had been trying to get Gabriel comfortable with pouring water his head during bath time but he doesn't like it one bit. Here Gabriel was practicing on Enrique and I think it has helped because now Gabriel is fine with it as long as he can do it himself.

Here is Raphael taking a nap in his mosquito protected crib. Raphael survived the entire trip with zero mosquito bites unlike Gabriel who was covered by the time we headed back home. (Gabriel's bed did not have a net, poor guy)
We spent several days in the beach house which was great and very relaxing. Gabriel loved going down to the beach; after some serious prompting and coaxing from Enrique. He really did enjoy himself. Here he is checking out the waves.

Here are several pictures with Raphael. He was only 6 weeks old on this trip so he was limited on the activities he was able to participate in. :) Also, he caught a cough from Gabriel and it moved its way down into his chest. The day we headed to the beach house we went to the pediatrician and ended up having to nebulize (sp?) him for several days. Not what you want to happen especially when you're not at home but luckily Enrique's sister got us in to her pediatrician. He did get better and luckily it wasn't anything too serious.

Gabriel was in heaven sitting in abuelo's convertible. This pictures shows him reaching to put on his seat belt. He is fascinated with cars and loves to sit in the driver's seat and "drive". He could spend hours in there if we let him.
Here his is driving the car himself. Let's just say it took a long time getting him out of the car.
More pool time with papi, abuelo, and abuela. This is a great picture of Gabriel learning to stick out his tongue with abuelo. He cracked up laughing after each time he would stick out his tongue. So much fun!

One night a lady came to the house to give Daniel a haircut so we decided to have Gabriel's hair cut too. He did really well and just sat there playing with his truck. He looked so handsome afterwards; like a little man.
Unfortunately, the last week we were on vacation, Gabriel got really sick. He must have eaten something bad and one night he woke up crying so we put him in bed with up and of course he threw up a few hours later. He couldn't keep anything down for over 14 hours. After that he had a slight fever and then diarrhea. He didn't eat for three days but luckily he would drink with a lot of persuasion. Our trip home was tough with a sick two year old who didn't want to walk and of course we forgot our stroller this trip so we couldn't push him around. Here he is watching the wiggles while he was sick. I felt so bad for him. You could tell he didn't feel good, he was so weak, and he wanted to eat but was afraid to after throwing everything up for 14 hours. I knew he was feeling better the day after we got home from vacation when he gladly ate two of my homemade buttermilk pancakes. That was the beginning of him eating real food again and boy were we happy.
Well that was our trip in a nutshell. We had a great time despite our kids both getting sick while we were there. This was Gabriel's last trip as a lap child so next time we will have to buy three tickets. Hopefully that won't deter us from going back down soon. I still need to post the pictures from Gabriel's 2nd birthday party that we had down there but I will do that on a separate post soon.
